Four years ago today, the landscape and the people of Tuscaloosa was changed forever. The morning of April 27th began with tornadoes and the early evening hours saw more.

Most of us who experienced the tornado will never forget the sounds, smells and fears from that day and the ones that immediately followed. We remember those who lost their lives that day and hope their families have found peace. We honor the survivors who share their powerful stories with those who were lucky to find shelter away from the storm.

The four years we leave behind us has seen healing and progress but there are still reminders of that day and I hope there always will be.
