It may be November, but that isn’t stopping one boy struck with baseball fever.

A seven-year-old Connecticut boy battling muscular dystrophy has signed a letter of intent to play baseball with the University of Hartford.

Thomas Hastings was joined at the ceremony by family and members of the Hawks’ baseball team.

Thomas befriended Hartford’s baseball team through a charity that teams sick kids with college teams.

“He's integrated with a team,” said Thomas’ father. “He gets that experience, physically and psychologically, to be part of the real team. He talks about the guys. He looks forward to seeing them. They are his teammates. It's an experience he can't get any other way."

Let's hope Thomas' experience with the Hawks is half as good as this kid's was on the gridiron.
