The Blue & Gray Museum of North Alabama is believed to be the largest privately owned collection of Civil War artifacts in the country. The museum features a wide array of Civil War relics, including swords and other edged weapons, revolvers and pistols, muskets and carbines, period drums, uniforms, photographs, documents, and much more.

In addition to Civil War history, the museum showcases other historical items from Decatur's past. An ivory-handled Colt 1851 Navy revolver that belonged to Union Brigadier General Joseph K. Mansfield is a highly prized item in the Blue and Gray Museum of North Alabama collection.

The museum is located on 723 Bank Street and you can visit the museum Tuesday through Friday from 10 am until 5pm and Saturday between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
