Blake Shelton had a day off and he didn’t like it, so he scheduled a surprise show for fans in Kansas City. The singer made the announcement on Twitter during a series of cheeky tweets.

In the span of a few minutes he went from “Where should I go?” to announcing a free show at Whiskey Tango in Kansas City, Mo. The venue later posted a Facebook update, saying the first 2,500 people age 21 and up will get in for free. Doors open at 7:15.

Shelton has been turning up everywhere it seems. Recently he took the stage during a Gwen Stefani concert. That came after she showed up for his 40th birthday in Colorado during Country Jam. On that night they sang their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" together, before she came back to sing “Hella Good” for an encore.

Shelton’s next schedule show is still three days away, on July 30 in Alberta, Canada. He has several festival dates scheduled until his official tour resumes on Sept. 9.

Shelton's current single is "She's Got a Way With Words," his second from the If I'm Honest album released earlier this year.
