Blake Shelton would like his fans to know, once and for all: He has not endorsed Donald Trump for president. In fact, he's not endorsing anyone.

On Thursday (July 28), Billboard published a lengthy piece on Shelton, in which the country star spoke briefly about his thoughts on the upcoming presidential election: "I'm not going to have the political conversation with you about Trump, or about Hillary Clinton, but I will tell you this: Whether you love him or hate him, [Trump] says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don't always have to be so afraid. A lot of people are pulling for him, no matter how much Hollywood fights it," Shelton says in part, adding, "I probably wish there was another option, but there's not." But after a number of outlets picked up Shelton's comments as an endorsement of sorts -- or, at the very least, an indication of how he'll vote come November -- the singer tried to set things straight on Twitter.

"Hey, before this gets going like it always does ... I haven't enforced (sic) ANYBODY for president. And I not going to. I don't do that s--t," Shelton writes in the first of a series of tweets. "My comment about 'wish there was another option but there's not' is across the board ... period. Now go dig up another story," he continues, before responding to a few replies and calling out specifically one website that reported the story.

"When y'all [want] the news about this stuff, watch ALL the channels. Read ALL the articles. Make YOUR mind up. And then vote," Shelton adds. "It's crazy that in this moment in time ... With everything going on in the world that spinning my words is so important to the media."

From there, Shelton attempted to turn the conversation to something else, tweeting about, among other things, the surprise free concert -- his second of the week -- he'll be playing on Thursday night.

Shelton has a fall tour planned to begin in September and has kept busy filming the next season of The Voice.
