Barrett Jones has received yet another award. This time he was garnered the prestigious Campbell Award or to put it in layman’s terms, he won the “Academic Heisman”. The William V. Campbell trophy is given to the college football player with the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance.

The award was presented by the National Football Foundation to Barrett Tuesday night at a dinner in New York. Jones is the twenty third beneficiary and the first from University of Alabama. Other notable recipients consist of Tim Tebow and Payton Manning and some of this year’s finalists included Baylor QB Nick Florence and Notre Dame stand-out Manti Te’o.

Barrett Jones is a three-time All-American and holds a steady 4.0 grade average at the university.

On Saturday, January 7th Barrett and his teammates will take on Notre Dame for the BCS National Championship. This will be his third time competing for the trophy. Good thing is… he’s helped win it the past two times he’s tried for it! ROLL TIDE!
