The Alabama men's basketball program has picked up momentum since hiring Avery Johnson in the Spring. The first-year head coach met with the media on Monday as part of the annual preseason luncheon.

Among the topics he touched on was Alabama's recruiting success through his first few months as a head coach. His 2016 class is already ranked top 10 nationally after adding five-star Terrance Ferguson and four-star Braxton Key.

Johnson also talked about his relationship with Alabama head football coach Nick Saban, who has helped him transition into his first college basketball position.

Fans will get their first look to see Johnson's 2015-16 team when they take the floor for the Tide Tipoff event on Wednesday. The team will sign autographs, compete in skills competition, and there will be a live performance from Rae Sremmurd.

If you'd like to watch Johnson's entire press conference, here it is.
