OWA Amusement Park in Foley opened last Friday to rave reviews. However, the park has some restrictions on rides which have a few attendees upset. Namely, height and weight restrictions for adults on certain rides.

On its website, OWA reveals that guests of certain body proportions may not be able to be accommodated on some of the park’s rides. The statement reads, “This may apply, but is not limited to, guests who exceed 6’2” or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40” waist line or 52” chest, or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear a size 18 or larger.”

OWA spokespeople say restrictions are for safety reasons. However, folks who don't meet certain criteria for specific rides do get upset, especially after waiting in line for 30 minutes to an hour, only to find out that they can't get on a ride.

In any event, this will be interesting to see how this all plays out. One thing is for sure, when I go down to OWA later this Summer, I will be checking the ride restrictions BEFORE I get in line. I'll also try putting down this Krispy Kreme doughnut that I'm eating right now, because I don't want to have my weight be the cause of NOT being able to enjoy a ride!
