There are many ways to support your favorite candidates as Election Day approaches, but snapping a selfie in the voting booth isn't one of them. Taking a selfie or shooting a video of yourself in the voting booth or polling place is against state law.

ABC News reports that ballot selfies are illegal in Alabama, as voters have a right to "cast a ballot in secrecy and in private." Voters need to be aware of this law before November 8th, as it applies to votes cast on Election Day as well as early voting.

Many other states have similar laws; Justin Timberlake is making national headlines after his voting booth selfie was found to be in violation of Tennessee State Law.
