Alabama football fans headed to Tuscaloosa this fall need to be aware of a major detour getting into and out of town during the 2015 season.

The city tore down the Alberta City bridge along University Blvd immediately after the 2014 football season ended, but the project is not expected to be completed until the end of this year. That means that one of the major game day routes will be effected every time Alabama plays.

While this will cause an inconvenience for fans, it won't force you to take another route into Tuscaloosa. Instead, you should plan for at least an extra 10-15 minutes on your commute.

The Alabama Department of Transportation has determined the best detour for anyone using University Blvd. UA Gameday provides the turn-by-turn directions, but here's a map with the route you'll need to take.

That route will be the same as you leave the city as well. Make sure you share this info with your friends and family because it could lead to some frustrating travel if you're not prepared.
