Alabama softball is ranked fourth in the 2016 preseason SEC coaches’ poll, as announced by the league office Thursday.

Defending national champion Florida claimed the top spot with 10 out of 13 first-place votes, while LSU slotted second with three first-place votes and SEC Tournament winner Auburn placed third. Alabama has won five SEC regular season titles, including three of the last five, most recently in 2014. The Crimson Tide has finished in the top three in the SEC in 10 of the last 11 seasons, winning at least 20 conference games in seven of those seasons.

This season, Alabama’s conference slate includes home series against Missouri (March 26-28), Mississippi State (April 8-10), Kentucky (April 22-24) and Georgia (May 6-8) along with road tilts at LSU (March 11-13), Florida (April 1-3), Texas A&M (April 15-17) and South Carolina (April 29-May 1). The 2016 SEC Tournament will be hosted by Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., with games set to begin on May 11.
