Alabama will enter the 2015 SEC Softball Tournament as the No. 3 seed, opening play on Thursday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. CT in Baton Rouge, La. The Crimson Tide will face the winner of Wednesday’s game between Georgia and Ole Miss.

Alabama earned the No. 3 seed after finishing third in the conference with a 17-7 SEC record. Florida, Auburn, Alabama and LSU each earned a first round bye while the No. 5-12 seeds will play four games starting on Wednesday, May 6. The winners of those games will advance to play the top four seeds on Thursday, as the tournament will continue in a single-elimination format. Every game on Wednesday and Thursday will air live on the SEC Network while Friday’s semifinal games will be on ESPNU and Saturday’s championship will be on ESPN2.

This year’s tournament will take place at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, La., and marks the first season in which the field includes 12 teams. This is the second time that LSU has served as the tournament host, first doing so in 2008. Alabama has won five SEC Tournament titles (1998, 2003, 2005, 2010, 2012) and holds 34-21 all-time record it the SEC Tournament.
