For the third time in four days, a member of the Alabama football team has been arrested. The latest incident involves running back Tyren Jones, who was charged with possession of marijuana on Tuesday.

A Tuscaloosa police report states Jones was in a car stopped on 10th Avenue with the smell of marijuana. Officers found digital scales in the Dodge Challenger belonging to Brandon Lee Hansberry, who was also arrested.

Head coach Nick Saban spent an entire press conference one day earlier answering questions about Jonathan Taylor's dismissal following domestic violence charges and Geno Smith's second DUI arrest over the weekend.

Jones, a sophomore, has already been suspended from the team twice in five months. The most recent came in February when Saban suspended him indefinitely for conduct issues.

UPDATE: The University of Alabama sent out a release announcing Jones' dismissal.

Tyren Jones was indefinitely suspended from the football program early in the semester," Saban said in a university news release. "He was given an opportunity academically and from a team rules standpoint, but he failed to do any of the things necessary to comply with the rules of the Alabama football program. He was dismissed from the team when he refused to follow the parameters given to him for reinstatement.
