Alabama senior center Bradley Bozeman has been named a finalist for the 2017 Dave Rimington Trophy, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced Monday.

Bozeman is one of three centers around the country named to the finalist list. The Rimington Trophy has been presented annually since 2000 to the top center in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Barrett Jones (2012) and Ryan Kelly (2015) are Alabama’s previous Rimington honorees.

In his second season as the Crimson Tide’s starting center, Bozeman has graded out at an average of 85.6 percent as a senior with 16 knockdown blocks and just seven missed assignments in 724 snaps (99.0 percent success rate). He has allowed just two sacks and four pressures all season and has blocked for six 100-yard rushing games this year, giving him 17 in his 28 career starts at center.

The Roanoke, Ala., native is the signal-caller for Tide offensive line that is a finalist for the Joe Moore Award and leads the nation in lowest negative play percentage, surrendering a negative play on just 4.3 percent of the Tide’s rushing attempts, is second nationally in quality rushes (56.8 percent), leads the SEC in yards before contact (4.17 per carry) and ranks 10th nationally in rushing with 265.3 yards per game. The Alabama offense is also ranked second in the SEC and 12th nationally in scoring offense (39.1 ppg) and second in the SEC and 20th nationally in total offense (465.4 ypg).

Joining Bozeman as finalists are LSU’s Will Clapp and Ohio State’s Billy Price. The 2017 Rimington Trophy winner will be announced during the Red Carpet Show prior to the ESPN College Football Awards in Atlanta, Ga., Thursday, December 7. The winner will be honored at the Rimington Trophy Presentation Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 13 in Lincoln, Neb.
