Shortly after the Washington offense finished up its media appearance in Atlanta, the Alabama defense took the stage to discuss the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

The nation's top-ranked defense was represented by defensive backs Minkah Fitzpatrick and Marlon Humphrey, Butkus Award winner Reuben Foster, and defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson. All four players will play key roles on Saturday as the Crimson Tide tries to slow down the best offense its faced all season.

Fitzpatrick, a sophomore who has played both cornerback and safety this season, said the key to disrupting the Huskies' game plan is to stop the run.

"Yeah, I would say they're more balanced than what we've seen because they average about 210 rushing yards per game and that's a pretty big number," Fitzpatrick said. "They also throw the ball a whole lot, which is kind of based off of the run. So if we can stop the run, I feel like it will be a whole lot -- they'll have to throw a whole lot more, so it will kind of throw them off their game and make them do things that they're not used to doing."

Even if Alabama is able to stop the run like it has all season, the defense still has to be aware of the potential for trick plays by the Washington offense. It's something that head coach Chris Petersen has executed at a high level throughout his career.

"With trick plays, you just have to execute the game plan and read the keys they give you beforehand, before the play even starts," Tomlinson said. "If you do that and play your job and do what you're supposed to do, I feel like we can stop any trick play."

Alabama will have a big edge in experience heading into its third College Football Playoff, and that helps the team know how to approach this semifinal game.

"I just think it's the Bama way," Foster said. "We just go in the playoff, treat it as a business trip and treat it like a regular season. It's a new season. So we got to treat it like a new season. It's 0-0. We're trying to be 1-0."

Saturday's Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will kickoff at 2 PM/CT inside the Georgia Dome.
