Alabama Athlete Performance You Should Know About: Daniil Proskura
Each week I will do my best to pinpoint a particular performance and the University of Alabama athlete who acomplished that feat. This week, congrats goes to Daniil Proskura!
Daniil was selected as the winner of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award for the Southern Region earlier this week.
According to RollTide.com, Proskura led the team in singles wins during the 2013 dual match season with 17, bringing his overall total to 25 for the year. He has also been vital to the Crimson Tide's doubles success, posting a 25-12 record, which includes three wins against nationally-ranked foes.
In addition to his success on the court, Daniil has made a mark in the classroom, holding a 3.843 GPA in finance. He is the 2013 Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was a 2012 ITA Scholar Athlete. Proskura has made the Dean's List in three semesters at The Capstone and the President's List once.
