No one ever wants to think of his or her home being invaded. In fact, the idea of security is what drives many to live in rural areas. However, the fact remains that there are thieves wherever you go, made in Vance.

Vance resident John Miller shared an experience on his Facebook page, where he described the force used in attempt to enter his home.

It's great that no one was injured in this incident. But let this serve as a reminder to all of us who feel like we live "in the country" where locking doors is unnecessary because "nobody's going to come in on us."  While some thieves prefer hitting at night when their identities may be hidden in the darkness, there are some who simply check for unlocked doors during the daytime, when residents are most likely to be working.

Stay on alert at all times.
