I got a call from my son's pre-school, Imagination Station in Northport early last week asking me if I'd come out and talk to the 4 year olds for community helpers week.

The kids had already had a visit from a police officer, a fireman and a local tv weatherman so I felt I was in good company.

I have an all new respect for the people who work with kids all day. The 4 year olds were pretty well behaved and seemed to be interested in what I was saying about radio and how we are the voice of the community. We work with the police, the firemen and the weather guys to try to get information out to people about things going on, weather, traffic and of course play their favorite music. I let them talk on a microphone and ask a few questions.
