No atmosphere is better for live music than a college town. Yeah, you have your nightly staple cover bands but T-Town's growing arts community is changing all that.

Another great thing about living in a college town is the diversity among the people living here. Typically, that diversity leads to a thriving and ever changing network of artists and musicians who have an interest in leading the community towards their craft. What this means to Tuscaloosa is that there are several places where you can enjoy dinner, maybe a beer and some original live music.

By the way, we didn't forget Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. We just figured you already knew that they have a lot of original live music as seen in years past with names like Merle Haggard, The Avett Brothers, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Willie Nelson, Jason Isbell, Alabama Shakes, Neil Young, Kenny Chesney, and others gracing their stage.

Here are a few of the places we've come up with that you may want to visit this summer. Keep in mind, these are not all of the places in Tuscaloosa to enjoy live, original music, just 7. If you have a place where you enjoy going that we may have left off, please let us know where in the comment section below.
