Tuscaloosa Police are searching for the driver of a black Honda Accord involved with a hit and run accident involving a young child Wednesday morning.

According to Tuscaloosa Police, the accident happened on 1st Street East around 7:40 a.m. this morning at a school bus stop. Despite a school bus being stopped with lights flashing, the suspect drove around the bus and hit a 6-year-old child.

The suspect kept going, fleeing the scene. Police continue to search for this driver.

The child went to DCH for non-life threatening injuries from the accident.

It makes you wonder, why did the driver not respect the flashing lights from the stopped school bus? Also, why did the drive flee the scene, especially after hitting a kid? Shocking story.
