5 Things I Hate About Thanksgiving
It's getting closer. Thanksgiving Day. Don't let the title of this post fool you, there are many, many things I love about Thanksgiving and I can get long winded so I figured I'd stick with the short list of things I hate about the Holiday. Number 1. - Traveling
My family and I normally visits relatives out of town for the holidays. While the visit is nice and the food is great, I could live without a few things. There is no particular order on the things I dread so here ya go. (I can't be the only one).
- Traveling. Traveling sucks. Loading up the car with 76 bags and wasting hours of your life on a two lane road.
- Sleeping in someone else's house. Sleeping in a bed you don't normally sleep in sucks. Sheets and pillows smell different and the kids never rest as well. Lugging a fan for "noise making" also sucks. ( we always seem to leave it and have to buy another)
- Strangers. Strangers at a family gathering: a cousin's new boyfriend, for example, suck. Awkward conversation and being forced to listen to stories you don't care about sucks too.
- Christmas Presents. I love a Christmas Present but the kids having to open a gift from Aunt Sally because she won't see them at Christmas time sucks. I have to cram the gift in the car with the 76 bags.
- Take some of this food home with you - The food is always insanely good and the deserts are off the chain but buying a Styrofoam cooler and ice for a Tupperware bowl of green bean casserole sucks. Remember the bags?
I could list a few more things but I'll spare you. While I'm in a good mood, I'll ask...what do you hate about Thanksgiving?
