Last May, letter carriers and dedicated volunteers helped collect almost 73 million pounds of non-perishable food, bringing the total to more than 1.3 billion pounds of food collected since the national drive began.

It’s the largest one-day food drive in America, and it’s made possible by thousands of letter carriers who volunteer their time to participate—as well as countless thousands of volunteers who help sort, collect and distribute much needed food to local food banks and pantries across the country.

It's easy to donate. Just set out your food well before your letter carrier’s normal pick-up time. They will be delivering and collecting mail as usual, on top of collecting food donations, so that pickup time could be slightly later than usual.
