Welcome to 99.1 WDGM’s edition of Throwback Thursday as we look back and count down the 10 most important games of the Nick Saban Era at the University of Alabama. We start our countdown with the August 30th, 2008 match-up between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers at number 10.

The year prior Alabama finished the season 7-6, including a troubling loss to the University of Louisiana-Monroe which left many wondering if this program was really heading in the right direction. The following February, Alabama head coach went out and landed the top recruiting class in the country a group that including the likes of Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, Marcell Dareus, a mountain of a man known as Terrance Cody.

That August night, Alabama announced the nation that the Crimson Tide was back as a national power.  So watch the video below, remember the 10th most important game of the Nick Saban era and check back each Thursday at 10:30 as this countdown continues.
